After being a stay at home mom for a number of years, Liz decided to go back to school and eventually decided to pursue a career in accounting. She graduated from Weber State University earning both a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of taxation degree. She was named the Weber State accounting student of the year in 2012. After a year of working in tax, Liz was able to take and pass all four parts of the CPA exam in a six-month period.
Liz joined Cook Martin Poulson, PC. in the Salt Lake City office. She brought with her experience in everything from individual taxes to consolidated corporations with a special interest in partnership and s-corporation tax family groups. At her previous CPA firm, Liz was the go to person for state and local tax issues.
Liz lives in Ogden where she currently serves on the board of the Northern Chapter of the Utah Association of CPAs.
Liz enjoys rummaging through the tax code and applying it to specific fact patterns. She compares a tax return to a puzzle, which she loves to put together. Liz enjoys making a difference for her clients and strives to be a trusted advisor for each of them.
When not helping clients with their tax needs, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, volunteering with youth in her area, reading books, putting together puzzles, and playing board games. The only sports Liz enjoys watching are the ones her children are playing in. In the past these sports have included soccer, football, cheer, baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming, track, basketball, cross country, and dance; who knows what else the future may bring.
